$399 iPad Mini

This year’s iPad mini comes with a large 7.9” screen, retina display and True Tone, which is a screen feature that allows your iPad to automatically adjust its color temperature based on the lighting within your current environment. If Retina display and True Tone don’t arouse you then maybe the Touch ID and A12 Bionic chip with Neural Engine will. Additional key features include up to 256GB storage although extra space is available via cloud. The 2020 Apple iPad mini’s are compatible with the Apple Pencil (1st generation) and with bluetooth keyboards.

2020 iPad Mini Capacity

The most basic Apple mini Wi-Fi model comes with 64GB of available storage, at a cost of $399, while the 256GB Wi-Fi model cost $549. The Wi-Fi + Cellular 64GB model cost $529 and 256GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model cost a whopping $679. The new 2020 iPad mini ain’t cheap but you get what you pay for—which is a great product.

2020 iPad Size and Weight

The overall dimensions haven’t changed much as compared to 2019 models. The 2020 iPad height is 8.0 inches (or 203.2 mm), width is 5.3 inches (or 134.8 mm), depth is 0.24-in (or 6.1 mm), weight is 0.66 pound (or 300.5 grams) which makes it lighter than 2019 models. Wi-Fi + Cellular models weight slightly more at 0.68 pound—a difference not noticeable.

Display and Chip

This year’s iPad mini comes with a 7.9-in retina display (diagonal) LED-backlit with IPS and Multi-Touch technology. Apple rates the screen at 2048-by-1536 resolution at 326 ppi, which is far better than Amazon’s 2020 Kindle tablet. Max brightness is rated at 500 cd/m2 (typical) and boast a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating with a fully laminated, antireflective True Tone display.   

The good news: 2020 Apple iPad mini’s are installed with A12 Bionic chip with 64-bit desktop class architecture, Neural Engine and embedded with M12 coprocessor.
